Does the 2027 rule apply only to teenagers?
No. The law addresses people who have not previously obtained a driver's license. A learner's permit for an eligible person under 18 is treated separately. Check DPS for your particular circumstances.
Do DSC's classes meet the new requirements?
Yes. DSC's DPS-approved driver-education classes meet Mississippi's new driver-education course requirements. Contact DSC or DPS with questions about the new rules or which class you may need for your circumstances. DPS handles your permit, testing, and licensing eligibility.
Do defensive driving or Alive at 25 count?
Defensive driving and Alive at 25 are distinct safety courses. Contact DSC or DPS with questions about whether a particular course meets your requirements and which class you may need for your circumstances. Do not assume these courses replace the required new-driver education program.
